Leonel Lopez is considered one of the great masters of
Mata Ortiz pottery particularly for his beautiful sgraffito, etched ollas. This gorgeous tall
geckos olla is a great example of his work. A similar olla is featured prominently in "The Many
Faces of Mata Ortiz" pg 109.
Leonel Lopez is the master of etched ollas, and his work has been included in all major Museum Exhibits of Mata Ortiz pottery, all books of
Mata Ortiz and magazines such as Sunset Magazine.
