This striking olla by Nicolas Quezada
was created in what we consider was Nicolas's most inspired period, from 2000 to 2005. During this time Nicolas created ollas of an extraordinary
beauty, great balance and sense of movement as well as an incredibly precise linework.
Most of the ollas Nicolas created during this period were true jewels of the
Mata Ortiz art movement, and this gorgeous piece is certainly a good example of his great work!
Nicolas Quezada is one of the most influential artists of the Mata Ortiz
movement. He was always alongside his brother Juan Quezada and is credited for many innovations in Mata Ortiz pottery making.
